Nanomedicine, an offshoot of nanotechnology, refers to highly specific medical intervention at the molecular scale for curing disease or repairing damaged tissues, such as bone, muscle, or nerve. A nanometer is one-billionth of a meter, too small to be seen with a conventional lab microscope. It is at this size scale – about 100 nanometers or less – that biological molecules and structures inside living cells operate.<br />
Nanomedicine is the medical application of nanotechnology and related research. It covers areas such as nanoparticle drug delivery and possible future applications of molecular nanotechnology (MNT) and nanovaccinology.<br />

<p>Nanomedicine certainly has lots of potential. However, there are alot of basic problems that it has to overcome prior to it becoming a reality such as:</p>
<p>1. how to avoid  being recognized as foreign and attacked by the immune system<br />
2. how to get the nanoparticles to the desired location</p>

<p>Technology and medical science has evolved at a greater pace as compared to the evolution of human beings. Every now and then, there are developments. One of the latest in the medical science is the Nanomedicine. Man ever since has understood the nuances of life have been worried about the day when he would have to face death. He understands that every thing that is born would die, but doesn’t want to acknowledge this fact. Man is trying to explore every possibility to sustain the life. He wants to defeat death and wants some kind of remedy, which would help humans being youthful and alive forever.</p>
<p>Nanomedicine is the output of the nanotechnology. This could be understood as a very tiny step towards human desire to live. There are so many diseases and there are cures as well. However, no one cure could be 100% and side effects should be expected. With the use of Nanomedicine, the side effects of the medicines and therapy conducted for a disease could be reduced and success rate of the effectiveness of the same could be increased. This simply means that Nanomedicine is a booster that would help make the tools of medical science even stronger than before.</p>
<p>The principle on which this medicine works is, this technique would aim at utilizing nanoparticles, sensors after a detailed diagnosis and the MEMS (micro-electro mechanical system) and then monitor &amp; observe the vivo bio chemical activities.</p>
<p>The advantages of Nanomedicine are listed below –</p>

<p>By just modifying the genetic material diseases as deadly as caner could be taken care off. Disease elimination will become normal. <p>Nanocomputers will be needed to guide these machines. These computers will direct machines to examine, take apart, and rebuild damaged molecular structures. Repair machines will be able to repair whole cells by working structure by structure. Then by working cell by cell and tissue by tissue, whole organs can be repaired. Finally, by working organ by organ, health is restored to the body. Cells damaged to the point of inactivity can be repaired because of the ability of molecular machines to build cells from scratch. Therefore, cell repair machines will free medicine from reliance on self repair alone.</p>
